About Simply Indonesia and how we check facts
Simply Indonesia answers the practical questions that decide how the first days of an Indonesia trip go: which visa, which form, which fee, how to get out of the airport, how to pay and how to get online. It deliberately does not try to be a guide to every beach, café and temple.
Who is behind it
Freddie runs Simply Indonesia. Every guide is built from official sources and dated fare checks, then re-checked when rules change. Corrections go to the top of the queue.
How a guide is researched
- Rules come from the authority that sets them. Visa and stay rules from the Directorate General of Immigration (imigrasi.go.id and evisa.imigrasi.go.id), the arrival card from allindonesia.imigrasi.go.id, the Bali levy from the Bali provincial government, money rules from Bank Indonesia, health advice from the CDC, WHO and national travel advisories.
- Prices are dated. Fares and fees that move — ride-hailing quotes, boat tickets, SIM packs — are shown with the date they were checked. Treat them as a measured example, not a tariff.
- Each page shows its check date and its sources. If we could not confirm something with a primary source, the page says so instead of guessing.
- Pages get re-checked. Entry rules and fees are reviewed at least every three months and whenever an official announcement changes them.
- No invented anecdotes. Every claim on a page can be traced to a linked source or a dated check. Where something depends on your own situation, the page says what to check rather than pretending to know.
Affiliate links
Some guides include booking options — airport transfers, boat tickets, hotels, eSIMs — from partners such as GetYourGuide and Agoda. If you book through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those boxes are labelled, the links are marked as sponsored, and every option is shown next to the free or cheaper way to do the same thing.
